Vantage Data Centre Scheme Approved at Bro Tathan
Residents may wish to note that plans for a Vantage Data Centre at Bro Tathan, Vale of Glamorgan have been approved. According to CarneySweeney, the application was approved at committee for 120MW of data storage.
CarneySweeney states that it provided planning advice and services to Vantage Data Centers throughout the application process, from the pre-application stage through to submission and determination. The project page says the scheme involved discussions with the local planning authority and included an Environmental Impact Assessment screening request, with the conclusion that the development did not require a full EIA.
The webpage also notes that the site presented a number of issues during the planning process, including PFAS in the soil, the presence of Second World War defence structures, and dormouse habitat. It says these matters were addressed through the planning process and in responses to consultee comments.
CarneySweeney further states that discussions also took place in relation to Section 106 planning obligations, which were negotiated during the application process.
